Between the 40s and the 80s global temperatures pretty much oscillated around the same value when our sulfur emissions roughly balanced our carbon emissions. But due to local damage from acid rains we reduced sulfur emissions (or at least reduced their growth) and carbon emissions rose happily unrestricted. https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/... |
