This gives me ideas for cryptology. It has 'quantum' key exchange potential.

Exchange bits over a multitude of channels each with its own timings and select bits only from those within a set of timing ranges to form the shared key.

It also has application in consensus and gossip certification protocols. The firefly synchronization function / problem can replace a blockchain.

I hope you will brainstorm some more parameters to toggle. This is food for thought.
