Let's not pretend like that is a positive outcome. All of your personal data being irrevocably made available to persons unknown, and used for unknowable purposes for untold decades... but at least you got $100 one time.
I don't believe that was what happened in this instance, but your point stands that some violations are not able to be adequately remedied with cashdollars.
