I doubt that. What is P(set of slower times across swimmers | pool is not slower)? Seems like it wouldn’t be too hard to calculate if we make a few reasonable assumptions about observational data. And if you don’t like inferring causation, one could just directly perform an experiment to test this pool vs another pool using swimmers who didn’t quite make the Olympics. |
