Another thing to consider is if the promotion will lift you into a much better career position that you can exploit later. Obviously if you think you could get something similar elsewhere quite easily then it's not so compelling. But if this would really take you up a level that would be hard to get applying elsewhere, then there is a lot of value in that too.

A 10k pay rise is nice, but you will be taking on a lot more responsibility, and they will want someone they can trust.

Always worth asking for a bit more than their offer of course. There isn't really a downside to that unless you are being really unreasonable.
