There is definitely a defense argument to be made. With enough compute you can use AI to entirely snuff out any signal with noise on any adversaries online resources. It's like having the power to snap your fingers and fire up a billion printing presses right next to where people read it. It's probably one of the most significant advances in propaganda if we are being honest about its capabilities.
You could have done this without ai though right?
Not at seemingly infinite scale, no. The days of troll farms where a single human operator working in a low wage country is commanding 24 phones and social media accounts at once in a purpose built workstation are probably numbered.
