Even then it takes a good bit of luck. Identities change, and kids (and some adults) are rebellious by nature. My parents did a great job. Sobriety was a core part of my identity throughout high-school and I'd proudly express that I had no desire to use drugs or alcohol. That lasted to the ripe old age of 20, which to be fair was longer than most of my peers. |
