I think it’s just an expectations question. Current gen models are a relatively minor productivity enhancer on the margin. Orgs that treat it as such are yielding the benefits. Those that think it means they can get 20% extra out of their existing workforce… are not.

I can only speak for myself here but with AI/LLM augmentation I'm capable of achieving a lot more and in areas where previously I'd either have to have a lot more learning time or enlist the help of peers. It's near impossible to measure but for software development my output at at least the same or higher quality is at least 2-3x across several languages I wouldn't otherwise have considered.
