It wasn't easy to program though. It wasn't good for hobby programmers.

Uh, like, the entire demoscene is mashing X to doubt there, bud. The Amiga had one of the most beautiful interfaces to its hardware and OS of its day. Plus, beginner-friendly languages like AMOS Basic were available.
