As someone not in the tech industry... The whole thing about coding tests sounds insane. Yes, I have friends in hiring positions in the tech industry, yes, I understand that many applicants cannot even complete these extremely basic questions. But shit. You're hiring so-called "engineers." The bar should be higher than fizzbuzz. If people hiring structural engineers had to ask them "should you build bridges with steel or cardboard" and expect 80% of applicants to fail or cheat on the question, our society would be fucked. |
