Boring or retired relatives whose only purpose is to consume political media. They periodically call you and proceed to rot your brain you with whatever hate, fear, or gossip they feel needs to be spread. Your mind then spins for days as you realize you are slowing losing respect for someone you once perceived as wise. It's like a perpetual low-grade mourning. By moving abroad and being in a different time zone you have a good excuse not to take their phone calls anymore and/or keep them short. With your mind clear you can then write cleaner code faster and be happy. |
