Yeah, Gitea is now owned by for-profit company, decided without any communication with the community.

Forgejo is the non-profit fork.

From their FAQ, Forgejo (pronounced /forˈd͡ʒe.jo/) is inspired by forĝejo, the Esperanto word for forge.
