There were certainly universities that were "Apple shops" fairly early on. Probably mostly at the tail end of your date range and beyond though. Here's the story at Dartmouth: https://www.cs.cornell.edu/wya/AcademicComputing/text/macdar... In 1980, Dartmouth actually had pretty democratized access to computing but it was pretty much exclusively on the timeshare mainframe. |
