That doesn't seem like a system with reasonable limits. Until there is a system to easily weed out the people that go ballistic when being laid off, cutting off access is completely fine. If you want to keep in touch with people outside of work, exchange personal emails. |

There’s literally whole continents where this isn’t an issue. If it is an issue in yours the problem is not the layoffs.
