There's some survivorship bias in that. Not every adult who gave up partying and focused on career and investing, ended up very well off. Sometimes it just doesn't work out and then you sacrificed the most fun years of your life for nothing leaving you depressed and unhappy. Not saying you should or shouldn't, I'm saying while there's no free lunch there's also no guaranteed lunch big either. For example here in socialist parts of Western Europe working hard is a scam since you don't end up more wealthy than those who just coast and do the bare minimum expecting the state to provide for them while you'll be the one paying for it with more taxes. Sometimes a simple and fun life with less money can be more rewarding than a life of stress and money |

I’m not a fan of cargo culting “survivorship bias.” It’s flimsy.
