> I’d pick the former. Agreed, actually. It does depend on the industry somewhat and sports is probably one where interest in the topic is more valuable than average. But for me I have to care about what the company does. I don't think it's necessary to be an extreme hardcode fan of the product, but at least caring more than a little bit is important. Working on a product that I couldn't care less about is going to be too draining. For example, netflix has been recruiting me for a long, long time but I have zero interest in movies. I'd rather do anything else than watch a movie. So I've never been interested in working there since, at the end of the day, it's a movie company and I just don't care about that at all. |
