Completely different. Alcohol works on the GABA receptors, just like common sleeping/anxiety/panic pills, the benzodiazepines and benzo-like medication/drugs. Both alcohol and benzo withdrawal is a nightmare and severe alcohol withdrawal is usually managed with benzos. |
