For the average person (or even average tech person), what advantage would desktop Linux have over macOS, especially now that Apple is on proprietary hardware again? Wasn't there already a desktop Linux for Apple Silicon (forget its name, Asahi maybe?), but last I checked, a bunch of things don't work right. It's nice having a POSIX shell on Mac combined with the ability to use common business apps like Adobe or Microsoft stuff. What would Linux offer? |
