What, in any of these regulations, is expected to encourage a greater number of platforms? If anything the net result of this regulation will be to make Apple products less competitive. The expected outcome of this regulation is an increase Android’s relative market share from 70% to something higher. |

That's not the point. The point is to ensure access to any platform once they get big enough to dictate market conditions.
