Oh wow! I'd obviously heard about this (in the context of Gibson's bibliography) but didn't know about the packaging aspect or different editions. Also had never seen a recording.

Didn't realize it's so...spartan? Just a black-and-white window of scrolling text. In my mind it always had some VGA-style background graphics, and music, like a demoscene PC diskmag. But I guess 1992 might be a little early for that, and especially if you're putting something out for the New York art crowd, yeah do it for Macintosh.

It was partially created as a meditation on the death of Gibson's father who had died when Gibson was a child so I can see why it would have a very sparse, somber aesthetic.
