The Hannibal Directive refers to preventing the kidnapping of soldiers, and it seems that in this case, it applied to civilian kidnappings as well. However, as this interview states, it was still used to prevent captures, by shooting at vehicles approaching the fence and crossing the Gaza-Israel border. I respect your opinion, but as far as I can tell, it was not the main cause of Israeli losses at the Nova festival (and certainly not in the October 7th attacks in general). |
