This is a really thoughtful comment. It's the statistical AI folks who are clinging on to doctrine, and my guess is they will continue to do so, while their compute budgets hold. After that, we'll see. I don’t think the compute budgets will hold for long enough to make their dream of intelligence emerging from a random bundles of edges and nodes to come to a reality. I’m hoping it comes to an end sooner rather than later |
