Most employers also expect fake enthusiasm though, part of their game to squeeze free hours/OT out of everyone.

Yeah, that's a different issue though. I am talking purely on the exchange of money for services provided.
Is it a different issue? It's the employer trying to get more than what they are paying for, and I think it factors into the overall employer/employee relationship.
It's an extra issue. Not every workplace asks for faking enthusiasm.
