Not that uncommon. I wash PC cables, PCBs, tools, microscope slides, lenses, all sorts of things in the dishwasher.

I also keep an ultrasonic cleaner on my desk for small things, but I can't be in the same room when it's on because it's too loud. Until I build an enclosure for it, the dishwasher will be my main cleaning tool.

You really need a think enclosure tho. Every maker youtuber has a thick box around their ultrasonic cleaner (Eg https://youtu.be/qT62D-sWNE4?si=v-zub1ke9uriCGvZ&t=674) and I never realized why until I heard the ear-piercing shriek of this thing.
