100%. After seeing this comment, I'm shocked to learn that even in the US, apparently non-profits can issue stock (in a small subset of states anyway). What the hell is the point of owning a stock if not for profit? Just issue a donation if you want to contribute moreney to a charity. Seems very disingenuous.

You own stock so you can tell the organisation what you want it to do, after all you are an owner of the organisation if you own stock.

Same goes for regular companies as well, the stock holders can tell the company what they want done, it doesn't have to be profit (though it pretty much always is), it can be saving the environment, going to explore space, etc.

RPi Holdings is not the same organisation as Raspberry Pi Foundation.
