What a weird take. Do you imagine that people organize protests merely to express their feelings? Of course not; people protest when they disagree with something their government is doing and want it to change. The US government is not involved in the Sudanese civil war, and there is no reason it ought to be, so there is no reason for US college students to protest.

Yes, and to raise awareness for an issue. Nobody gives a damn about Sudan that's the truth, there are people who are deemed worthy of global attention and those who are not deemed worthy, Sudanese apparently aren't worthy. You can count Yemen as unworthy as well, around 250k people have been killed in the civil war there without much fuss.

When people are chanting "From the River to the Sea..." and "Globalize the Intifada," how does that pertain to the US government?
Presumably you must be aware that the US government has spent decades funding, arming, and supporting the Israeli government...
The U.S supports and does business with Saudi Arabia (by arming it for example), did many people in the U.S care what happened in the Yemen civil war?
