Freedom of speech has never meant that you are not responsible for what you say. Bullying, death threats, slandering, etc. are not the same as expressing an opinion, an observation, or an idea. What these EU politicians want is to control the opinions an ideas that they don't approve; anything they see as a danger to their political agendas.
