Ask HN: Lightweight CRMs with hiring data (out-of-the-box)?
2 points by robinyapockets 752 days ago
Hey HN!

Is there a tool where I can filter by hiring activity e.g. hiring first UXResearcher or Designer, among other properties, to send more targeted emails?

My co-founder and I just launched our v1, are Pre-PMF, and are looking for ways to send more targeted emails, at high volume.

We're building a tool that would be great for teams hiring their first UX Researchers.

It seems most CRMs have the user ingest their own data, or the prices quickly get steep.

Many thanks!

There are prospect databases like Apollo.io and zoominfo that let you filter based on prospects new to their job. Add that to a company size/stage/revenue filter and you should be at least 80% there.

Alternatively, you might consider scraping relevant job sites/forums/boards for job postings for UX research/designer.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks! I took a look at Apollo, and even with large discount found the price quite steep.

Nice idea with scraping job sites. Have you had any luck with any particular one?

Kinda want to avoid another CRM, and just get a smart list that I can build my own workflow around.

I have a solution to scrape job portals like LinkedIn, Indeed, and a couple more. But the jobs data's value plummet very sharply over time and extracting this data at a large scale is quite extensive. Not sure what is your though.
This sounds interesting. I saw that you built https://datachroma.com/ - is this what you're referring to?
We used indeed as the pilot. Don’t try this on LI as your account will be banned.

You can also test out clay- they have a free tier that I think includes new job alerts based on LinkedIn.

Is the problem that this kind of tool doesn't exist because hiring data is so fragmented? Some data on different ATS platforms, some on LinkedIn, but all with restricted APIs?
I'm doing this manually(linkedin search, jobs page, IMs) It's is very time-consuming and distracting. I'm looking for some kind of automation myself.
Have you looked for options already?
