| Hi Nerd, What happens when a broke computer science student tries to sell old t-shirts and jackets on Vinted but loses patience writing tedious captions to attract potential buyers who never seem to arrive? The most plausible solution to me was to create a platform that automatically generates captions using AI. And that's how Describify was born. Describify uses OpenAI's API to generate descriptions that sound human-written, helping online sellers save time and sell more effectively. The idea was simple, but bringing it to life required a lot of work and dedication. It wasn't easy. Despite loving to code, I wasn't an expert (and I'm still not). I knew React, had created a blog, and a few other simple projects, but Describify took me to a whole new level. I learned how to set up a Node server, manage user access and limitations, choose the right libraries to create an effective user interface, set up secure connections to send emails to users without relying on expensive third-party services, and much more. This project allowed me to develop new skills over a period of about six months. Six intense months, full of challenges, but also great satisfaction.
