And it’s absolutely possible that changes in technology have dramatically shifted the dynamics of the marketplace of ideas (of course this is the entire purpose of advancing technology). It is feasible that a Wild West marketplace of ideas had a tendency to select truth given the communication media from the printing press to social media, and now with social media that dynamic is weaker, nonexistent, or inverted. |
