Thinking about this a bit more, I think I see what you mean - the example where you fold it into a torus is "intuitively flat" because when you leave the portal travelling north, you re-enter travelling north, etc. That property doesn't hold for my cube example. I wouldn't say the curvature implied by this property is "intuitively" 0 - why not 1, or 360°, or 180°? - but I can see how it's an interesting property that only a few shapes can have. |
