Interesting links.

When I click on Ask link, I see the list of questions being asked by other members. But I can not post a question. What am I missing?

I checked your first link but nothing is mentioned about this.

You just submit a text post with “Ask HN” as the title prefix. Same with “Show HN”, it's automatically categorized by title.
