For years intel claimed that developers would never port their code from x86 to a different archiecture. The recent wave of mobile devices for iOS and Android has shown this to be completely wrong. In the future DBA's that only know how to use a relational database will be obsolete, because younger developers that know how to use mysql and various nosql solutions will take their jobs. |
