I always thought the core user were statisticians and the hype around data science and ML called for a new way of looking at statistics (accuracy of predictions over interpretation of models) and with this a new language of choice. “R is for statistics, but if you want to do machine learning you have to use Python” Which is ironic given that pythons success as a data science tool is built on the back of a matlab clones. |
