Cynicism is (arguably) the intellectually easy strategy. If you’re cynical and you get it right that everything “sucks” you look like a genius, if you get it wrong there is no penalty. If you aren’t cynical and you talk about how great something is going to be and it flops you look like an idiot. The social penalty is much higher. |
