Oh, that's interesting. I think not distinguishing between owned and borrowed types clears things up for me; it makes a lot more sense for copying to be an optimization here if reference-ness is not (directly?) exposed to the programmer. Thanks for the explanation and the reading suggestions! I'll see about taking a look. |
