A study posted here yesterday, had the interesting statistic that the “clearance rate” i.e. percent of crimes solved by the police - when reported - is down drastically in recent years, a trend that seems to have started long before covid: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40223240
(note, flagged, although not clear to me why) This might explain part of the growing frustration and questions about the veracity of the reporting data. |
