What’s the context for “Do Not Install”?

That Unix Surrealism ( https://lemmy.sdf.org/c/unix_surrealism?dataType=Post&sort=T... ) art project(?) is absolutely delightful in general.
Probably the same sense of humor as their release server: only9fans.org
It's just the name of the release, like the choice of the names of Toy Story characters in Debian. A former release was called "don't touch the artwork".
If you have to ask, you shouldn't install it. This is entirely in keeping with the philosophy of 9front.
Rebuild of Plan9 - You Can (Not) Install
It’s the release following Humanbiologics.
This is an excellent question and I dug around on the website looking for an answer too. I have _no idea_.

Presumably, as a release, it should be installed?

The website has a wonderful semi-retro esthetic, a noticeable political stance, and a sense of humour, and I wonder if the naming is related.

from the #cat-v irc channel, this is a loose reference to Three Body Problem when the trisolarans sent a message to earth saying DO NOT REPLY.
