I completely agree with this.

I work at an investment bank, which means my workday starts at 6:30am and don't usually get home until 8 or 9pm. However, I still manage to come home and work (or play, really) on other projects.

Having interesting projects to work on (as opposed to articles to read) makes a tremendous difference on personal motivation.

Work on something you are interested in and this won't be a problem.
