My bet is that the future of software engineering will "shift left" towards product requirement completion rather than focusing on writing raw source code. More emphasis will be on how to translate requirements into software, without worrying too much about writing code itself, kind of like how we don't worry about assembly code or compilers now. May a new form of user interaction more tailored for product manager or product engineers would be the trend?
