This was less than a month ago: 85,000 homes without power in one metro area, many of them for 2 or 3 full days. https://www.timesunion.com/weather/article/capital-region-ad... Most of the US Northeast is at risk of major power outages during strong storms, especially early/late nor'easters which bring ice and heavy wet snow. I guess you could say the US is not a first world country if you want to throw shade, but I'm not buying it. |
