My gaming rig and my Mac Studio both came with 10Gbe. My laptop thunderbolt dock also has 10Gbe.

There's a lot of really reasonably priced switches with 2.5Gbe. For example a 10 port for $90 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CT2F3ZDM

It seems silly to be so limited to 1Gbe right now. All my switches are 2.5 and I wouldn't do less on a new install.
