As someone who holds several patents, I totally agree. Every time I interact with that system, it makes me want to burn the whole thing to the ground. The legal definition of novelty and obviousness is nonsensical. The duration is far too long. The USPTO does a terrible job of screening for quality. The court enforcement is little more than a high-stakes game of chance. |
