This is why I'm always skeptical of anything BSD licensed. It seems this license is the preferred one just in case the authors want to pull the rug from under at some point in the future.
Reasonable skepticism. Rather than changing the agreement at some point in the future, it's better to clarify it from the beginning. Perhaps introducing an enhanced version of the BSD license, which does not allow the project to modify the license at any point in the future, would be a good idea.
