The release of ChatGPT 3, 4 made us astounded because it was doing things a computer never could have done since they exists. That made us believe that they could replace humans in a lot of fields, where, in fact, it only improves the work of an already existing human. The hallucinations, specially, can be very costly. The money saved by doing 95% of a taks with an AI can be swallowed easily by an human having to work to fix the 5%.

For developers ChatGPT is like having a team of good juniors on your fingertips. I think it can increase the productivity of a senior engineer probably three fold. But you must do code review and understand the code.
Yes, I believe it is specifically good when you have a lot of experience so you can immediately tell what is correct, what is wrong. I think this is an excellent time for experienced engs in the market, because GPT might in certain terms hinder low experience engs, but scale exp engs output many times.
