Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I like so-called "hard sci-fi", where effort is made into thinking through the details and the sci-fi bit is not just a backdrop for a regular story, or a way to validate neuroses du jour. Both of these are definitely in my top-10 sci-fi books of all time. |
