Just came out of this. I can totally see where you are coming from. When I started 3 years back I had same concerns and doubts. But took the leap of faith. You have to trust your skillsets and have some confidence. You have worked for 10 years so you do have good amount of experience. In my experience it was much easier for me to get interviews lined up. And honestly in terms of career progression I am farther ahead than I imagined. One thing that I would improve though is have some idea before jumping off the wagon. Need not have product or funding secured (better if you can) but some direction. Also would highly advise looking for someone to work with unless you are going indie route. It can get lonely and is a roller coaster of emotions daily.
