Despite widespread knowledge that Open Access is more effective marketing of research, the ACM still clings on to non-open-access models outside of CACM. ACM is among the few publishers in technology that still resist open access, and told to pay for it. It is unfortunate sign that organization struggles to fulfill its mission in promotion of computing research, and is instead leaning on interests that are outside its mission statement. |
