Tons of products like this have existed for years. Virt-v2v (which I wrote) since 2007/8, Platespin, Xen XCP, AWS's tooling, Azure Migrate etc.

Yes, that’s true. But this is not about the product but about business practices of Broadcom. They tend to do sharp price increases when they purchase a product line.
