Ask HN: Has anyone else lost access to Instagram?

My wife is trying to login, and can't. The iPhone app logged out suddently in the afternoon.

She tried to use the forgot password link and get a login link sent to her email, but she checked Gmail (inbox, spam, et. al.) and there's nothing.

https://metastatus.com/ shows all status are okay so not really sure what's going on.

Any clue?

ps: I can login just fine.

There has been several unavailability reports regarding this same issue worldwide. Check on downdetector and you may see several people saying the exactly same problem. And is too early to say if this is caused by a cyber attack.
